When Cliff Hudson was a teenager, his father, an auto mechanic also, tried to steer him into another profession.  “You always want better for your children, so he did everything but whip me to keep me away from the automotive industry.  But what my dad didn’t realize was that not only was he my inspiration, cars were my passion.  And you can’t quell passion.”

At just 14 years of age, Cliff landed his first automotive job.  While attending Wando High School he worked evenings, weekends and summers doing whatever his employer required.  “Talk about starting at the bottom of the barrel; that was my first day at work.  I cleaned filthy old auto parts out of barrels!”  Cliff graduated at the top of his class in the inaugural year of Wando’s automotive program and was awarded the “Outstanding Auto Mechanic” award from Ford motor company.

Cliff furthered his career through employment in two local dealerships but continued to work nights and weekends.  Due to the overwhelming demand for his time and talent, Hudson’s Import Service was opened in April of 1978 in what amounted to a lean-to type of structure.  In 5 years the business relocated to a much larger structure and in 1986, to its present building where it has remained over 30 years.

Cliff Hudson
President, VW/Audi Service Manager

Cliff is “hands-on” in his shop. There is rarely a day when he is not one-on-one with his technicians, ensuring that accurate diagnosis and quality service and repairs are the product of Hudson’s Import Service. His thoroughness and dedication to this process is evident at every level. Cliff currently sits on the Automotive Advisory Board for the automotive department at Trident Technical College and holds the highest ASE certification of Master Automobile Technician.

Caitlin Hudson
Office Manager

Caitlin, Cliff’s daughter, has recently joined the Hudson’s team. She has her Associates Degree in Business Administration and comes from a long, family history in the Automotive Industry. She is responsible for the overall operation of the front office. She is a vital asset to our team and with her under our roof Hudson’s has become a “family affair.” 

Marc Olivetti

With over 30 years of automotive experience, Marc leads his fellow technicians in diagnostics and repairs and is responsible for helping maintain our high standards of service and repairs. Marc has been recognized by VW of North America for outstanding achievement and commitment to excellence and is a factory trained Audi Technical Specialist. He also holds ASE Certifications.

Sean Rogerson

Sean has over 14 years of automotive experience and holds several ASE Certifications. He has specialized training in on board computer diagnostic systems and front end/suspension repair and alignment. Sean and John, Service Manager, work closely together to ensure top quality repair and service for our customers with Japanese imports.

Gains Hudson

Gains, Cliff’s son, joined our team in 2012 after completing the 2-year automotive program at Trident Technical College. His high level of achievement in that program and his ASE Certification, combined with his natural mechanical talent, makes him a true asset. Gains’ passion and hobby is the driving and intimate knowledge of the Nissan 240SX, which makes him a natural for servicing and repairing Asian imports, but his talents also extend well into the European line.

Frank Myers
Shuttle and Shop Maintenance

Frank has been with Hudson’s Import for over 12 years and plays a crucial part each day in customer service and shop operation. If you have had the pleasure of having Frank chauffer you to or from your home or office you know he is an asset to our team.
